Recruiting now.
The Glasgow Stags have skated into the new academic year with momentum, following a summer packed with growth, outreach, and exciting new partnerships. The stags hit a record number of interest requests, alongside their try hockey freshers' event, which had over 30 new “learn to play” players in attendance.
To support this surge in participation, they also received a £1500 donation from the Western Recreation Trust for new learn to play equipment, in which they used to purchase new helmets from Cold Blooded Sports in Paisley, in order to provide the experience.
The team also made a strong presence across Glasgow, attending freshers' events at:
University West of Scotland
Glasgow Clyde College
South Lanarkshire College
City Of Glasgow College
and Glasgow Kelvin College for
The Stags also gained new sponsorships over the summer such as Add Victor and Nonna Said, and a new partnership with the paisley pirates, which helps in driving more people to come and watch games.
In a major development from last season, is that they have gained the ability to enter a C team into the cup alongside their usual A and B teams.
They also have made a new recruitment for the A team, Alexander Rebelo, who has been playing since the age of 6, previously having played for the Rhode Island Hitmen and the Northern Vermont Wildcats.
Alexander Rebelo when asked had high praise for the stags team.
"The players on the stags are far friendlier and constructive than my home teams....it feels like they're really glad that you're their and on their team"
Finally, the club has opened up its media team to new student contributors, inviting fresh voices to help tell the story of the Stags journey, from rink-side action to behind-the-scenes efforts.
