About the stags

Founded in 2019, the Glasgow Stags are one of the newest and upcoming ice hockey teams in the British Universities Ice Hockey Association (BUIHA). One of only three university teams in Scotland—alongside the Edinburgh Eagles and St. Andrews Typhoons—the Stags have brought University Ice Hockey to the West of Scotland.

Based at the prestigious Braehead Arena in Glasgow, the Stags benefit from a world-class facility that serves as the backdrop for training sessions and home games.

Whether you’ve played hockey your whole life or have never picked up a stick, we welcome all levels – beginners to experienced players. The Stags are a student-run, not-for-profit club committed to competitive sport, community, and having a blast on and off the ice.
